135 Candidates selected & shortlisted in a mega Unity Job Fair in Mumbai

Mumbai, Sunday, 30th August 2026:
In order to promote employment, youth empowerment and communal harmony, Association of
Muslim Professionals (AMP), in collaboration with Pir Makhdum Saheb Charitable Trust (Mahim
Dargah), Amin Patel Foundation, Hamdard Learning & Welfare Society, Bombay Catholic Sabha (BCS),
Sanghakaya Foundation and World Interfaith Harmony Unity Mission (WIHUM), organised a Unity Job
Fair at Mumbai Public School, Nagpada, Mumbai.
The Job Fair, which was open to candidates from all Communities, witnessed participation from 50
companies, inspite of it being Sunday, and conducted 500+ interviews. As many as 135 candidates
were shortlisted and selected for employment, providing them with an opportunity to move towards
greater economic independence and a more secure future.

The event was inaugurated by Shri Amin Patel, MLA & President, Amin Patel Foundation, in the
presence of Mr. Aamir Edresy, President – AMP; Mr. Javed Juneja, former Corporator, and several
distinguished guests and representatives of participating organisations.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Amin Patel said, “Employment is one of the most important pathways to
empowerment and dignity. I am happy to be associated with this Unity Job Fair, which not only
creates employment opportunities for our youth but also demonstrates how organisations and
communities can come together for a common social cause. Such initiatives need to be encouraged
and taken to a larger scale.”

Aamir Edresy, President – AMP, said, “AMP has always believed that education and employment are
powerful instruments of social transformation. The Unity Job Fair is especially meaningful because it
brings together people and organisations across communities with one shared objective — to create
opportunities for our youth & harmony. We are grateful to all our partners, employers, volunteers and
supporters who have made this initiative possible.”

Suhail Khandwani, Managing Trustee – Mahim Dargah & Haji Ali Dargah Trusts, said, “Employment is
not merely about earning a livelihood; it is about giving our youth dignity, confidence and hope for a
better future. Initiatives like the Unity Job Fair demonstrate that when organisations and communities
come together with a common purpose, we can create meaningful opportunities while strengthening
the bonds of unity and harmony.”

Dolphy D’Souza, former President of BCS, stressed the urgent need for such initiatives: “The
employment scenario is challenging. Only by uniting as responsible citizens can we make our youth
self-reliant. The Unity Job Fair is a step in that noble direction.”
The participation of organisations representing different communities added a special significance to
the event, reinforcing the message that employment, youth empowerment and social progress are
shared responsibilities that transcend religious and social boundaries.
The organisers expressed their gratitude to the participating companies, partner organisations,
volunteers and all those who contributed to making the Job Fair a success.
The Unity Job Fair once again demonstrated that when Communities join hands with a shared
commitment to serve society, they can create not only livelihoods, but also bridges of understanding,
friendship and unity.
