Omar Abdullah Invites Tourists, Locals to Explore Srinagar’s Chrysanthemum Garden

Srinagar, October 23: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday invited tourists and local residents to visit Srinagar’s Chrysanthemum Garden, Bagh-e-Gul-e-Dawood, which opened for the second consecutive year.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the garden, Abdullah urged people from across the country, particularly residents of Srinagar and neighbouring areas, to visit the attraction, enjoy its vibrant floral displays, click photographs and create lasting memories.
The Chief Minister said the garden has been developed to promote tourism and offer visitors a unique attraction at the beginning of the tourism season, especially as the iconic Tulip Garden traditionally draws large crowds during spring.
Highlighting the garden’s sustainability, Abdullah said its plant material is locally propagated and multiplied, unlike tulip bulbs, which need to be repeatedly imported from abroad.
He added that the government would continue to develop Bagh-e-Gul-e-Dawood and introduce new attractions every year to enhance its appeal and further strengthen Kashmir’s tourism offerings.
The Chrysanthemum Garden is expected to add another colourful destination to Srinagar’s growing portfolio of floral and tourism attractions.
