South African Runners Dominate Kashmir Marathon 3.0, Clinch Top Two Spots

Srinagar, October 25: The third edition of the Kashmir Marathon concluded on Saturday with South African runners dominating the event, securing the top two positions in both the 42-km Full Marathon and the 21-km Half Marathon categories.

Around 2,000 registered runners, including 72 international athletes from 12 countries, participated in the prestigious event. Runners from different parts of India also joined local participants, making the marathon a major sporting gathering in the region.

The Kashmir Marathon once again highlighted the breathtaking scenic beauty of the Valley while promoting sports, fitness, adventure and tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Tourism Syed Qamar Sajjad highlighted the importance of such international sporting events in showcasing Kashmir as a global destination for tourism and sports.

The successful conclusion of Kashmir Marathon 3.0 further strengthened the Valley’s growing reputation as a destination for major sporting and tourism events.
